TVAWC realizes that the number one need of someone moving to the area is
support. To insure that members have the information and resources they
need, we provide a buddy, monthly newcomer coffee mornings and written
information on surviving life in the UK
Buddy system: new members are paired up with an “experienced” member (buddy) in your area. Your buddy will help you learn about where to shop, transportation, and schools, whatever you need. If they don’t know something, they will help you find out! They are there for those “why did I agree to come here?” calls and to share your joy when you conquer driving, banking, British Telecom and all the other challenges that come with expatriate life. How often you talk or meet is up to the buddy and you! New Comer Coffee Mornings are held every month at a different member’s home. Attendees are a mix of “experienced” and new members. This is a great opportunity to meet people in a small, comfortable setting while learning more about the area and the club. Expatriat’s Survival Guide: printed information on ALL the challenges we could think of is given to all new members. Always available at newcomer coffee mornings and general meetings, this information is also available in the member’s only section of our website. For more information email welcomewagon@tvawc.com
